The Neural Basis of Political Behavior

Home/Eventi e News/The Neural Basis of Political Behavior

The emergence of political neuroscience, or neuropolitics -an interdisciplinary venture involving cognitive neuroscience, social psychology, and political science- has piqued the interests of scholars, journalists, and the mass public. This Workshop will focus and analyze the structures and functions of the human brain thought to be involved in evaluation, judgment, and behavior that is socially and politically relevant. Specific topics will include the cognitive aspects of stereotyping, prejudice, and intergroup relations; the occurrence of partisan bias and motivated political cognition; the nature of left-right differences in political orientation (or ideology); and impression formation, candidate perception, voting behavior, and collective action.
