Descrizione Attività |
We are seeking candidates for a postdoc position (“University Assistant”, approx. equivalent to “Lecturer”, contract up to 6 years) at the Faculty of Psychology. The successful applicant will work in close collaboration with Prof. Claus Lamm (Chair of Biological Psychology) and his team at the Social Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Unit (SCAN-Unit). The SCAN-Unit investigates a broad range of topics in the field of Social Cognitive Neuroscience, with a focus on empathy, prosocial behaviour, morality, and social decision making. We investigate these phenomena mainly in healthy neurotypical populations, but recently also started to incorporate clinical samples (autism, psychopathy, depression), and developmental aspects (social cognition across the lifespan) in our approach. Further information about current and past research of the lab can be found on our webpage http://scan.psy.univie.ac.at/research |
Titoli di studio o referenze richieste |
We are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. degree in (Experimental, Cognitive or Biological) Psychology, Biology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, or a related field. Basic computer programming skills (preferably Matlab) are mandatory, and in-depth experience in designing, running, analyzing, and publishing experimental studies using human neuroscience methods such as fMRI or EEG (see below for available research infrastructure) is of central importance. Successful candidates document their research skills by an excellent PhD, and by high-level peer review publications (or submitted manuscripts, for more junior postdocs expecting to be awarded a PhD soon). Applications from more senior post-doc candidates are particularly encouraged. The candidate should have a strong interest in social neuroscience research and in being part of an interdisciplinary and international research team. Excellent oral and written English language skills are required. Working language of the lab is English. An autonomous work-style and genuine curiosity is both required and supported. |

Please send these materials to Sigrid Hager (sigrid.hager@univie.ac.at) with “Application Postdoc Lamm” in the e-mail header.
